PAUSE Her Visits: Hare & Bone

Where? Hare & Bone Fitzrovia, 69 Great Titchfield Street, London
Who are Hare & Bone?
HARE & BONE is the creation of Sam Burnett, an award winning hair stylist and Creative Director whose innovative designs have inspired international campaigns and global brands. Sam’s mission for HARE & BONE is simple: to provide every one of their clients with an exceptional salon experience, whilst leaving with hair they love!

Located a short walk from Oxford Circus Underground, the salon really is in the heart of London’s fashion district. With opening hours to suit pretty much everyone’s schedule, there is no excuse not to make time to spruce yourself up. The sleek interior oozes sophistication and class, and the kind of vibe that you just want to hang out as long as possible!

Greeted by the most cheerful staff, your mood is immediately lifted (especially after a long day’s work!). Offered a selection of hot and cold drinks (including bubbly!) you are introduced to your Stylist and seated to discuss your new look. With naturally thick curly hair that I blow dry straight, I have always been nervous having my hair done by people that I don’t trust. They are always quite surprised to see that as soon as water touches it, the once straight locks, spring up into bouncy curls! Growing up in a small town, hair stylists never knew how to handle my hair, describing it as ‘afro’ and ‘unmanageable’. This has left a lasting impression on me, but I needn’t have felt so anxious coming in here. No mentions of my ‘awkward’ hair type, just completely professional and highly experienced advice. Even down to the suggestions for styling to suit my face shape.

I have to say, having my hair washed by someone else is always my salon highlight. Even more so given the chair having an electronic back massager; winner! The combination of the stylist at work (head massage and all), the amazing aroma of the products, and the salon music, I lay back and shut off! Bliss!

I opted for a blow dry with beach wave styling, and was not disappointed! My only regret is that I hadn’t planned to do anything after my appointment. That feeling where you waste a good blow dry on an insignificant day…! On the plus, I looked good, not for anyone, but for myself. One thing I know for sure, I will go back.
