adidas Originals has partnered with the Berlin-based Creative Collective, deadHYPE to release the ZX 8000 silhouette. The shoe marks the return of ZX series, which saw a host of collaborative partners during 2008 and 2009 and gained a global following of running purists and sneaker enthusiasts alike.
Drawing on the Berlin landscape, the deadHYPE sneaker is also inspired by another Berlin favourite, the archival BW Army. Heavy gauge canvas marks the sneakers upper, complete with buttery nubuck overlays. The iconic three stripe branding has been replaced with as well as a solid band where the silhouette’s 3-stripes would normally be.
Elsewhere we see the shoe’s tonal lavender colourway serving as a subtle ode to Berlin’s unique culture. The sneaker comes replete with 3 pairs of co-branded waxy laces and co-branded sock liners, finalizing the shoe’s playful design.
The adidas Originals and deadHYPE ZX 8000 BW sneaker launches globally on September 18th 2020 and is available through adidas.com/A-ZX and select retailers.
