Burberry Encapsulate Femininity in Latest Autumn / Winter Campaign 2021

Burberry’s new Autumn/Winter campaign explores the fluidity and power of individuality.

The brand’s newest campaign unites contrasting perspectives on the season’s theme.

Defying stereotypes and recreating preconceptions with unflinching confidence, Riccardo Tisci’s womenswear collection for Burberry in Autumn/Winter 2021 is entitled Femininity. Tradition has been reinvented with fresh purpose and confidence, twisting classicism and encouraging freedom of expression.

For the collection, the animal kingdom is a house code, as trompe l’oeil prints and tactile faux furs mix the natural with the fashioned, complete with unexpected adornments on hoods and exaggerated pelt fringing. 

By juxtaposing raw studio images with still photos, the campaign embodies duality, backstage during the A/W21 presentation, Chris Rhodes captured bold, candid shots with Mert and Marcus. Rather than presenting a singular viewpoint, the seasonal line encourages a variety of viewpoints and freedom of expression. 

As aforementioned, Tisci’s collection by Burberry explores the narrative of modern femininity and masculinity, rewriting the narrative with a sense of boldness and opportunity.

As a nod to the indomitable nature of Mother Nature and to the widespread craft and outdoor movements of the early 20th century, it is a direct reflection on those pioneering individuals who braved nature, breaking expectations on their path to a better future.
