Taking to Hancock Shaker Village in western Massachusetts to lense the collection, here are the highlights of the Tory Burch SS21 collection.
“Women don’t want complicated clothing right now,” Burch explains in an interview with Vogue. “People are shopping, we still need to dream. We’re in a place of uncertainty and we need to see a future that’s different from being in lockdown.”
Inspired by the designer’s Quaker elementary school; the collection focuses on layering, mixing-and-matching and comfort. Easy caftans, dresses and tunics, poplin blouses with removable lace collars embody a carefree and feminine aesthetic. Classical tailoring stands against references to woven baskets hanging in the mudrooms, whilst handcrafted details form Capri sandals, collapsible leather totes, basket-weave shoulder bags and suede slides.
