PAUSE Her Meets: Manna

PAUSE Her Meets: Manna

Manna is a model and singer-songwriter from London. She released her debut single ‚Sundress’, earlier this year, and isn’t letting the drama of COVID-19 stall her success.

As a Model, she has appeared in many campaigns and editorials, including with us at PAUSE Her, so yes, we are already fans!

This week, Manna dropped her second single WYW (produced by Hurricane and features Yano Rude & Farda), and took some time out to chat to us about the summer season, her fave hot weather look, and what we can expect from her in the coming months.

What is the story behind your latest single ‘WYW’?

Honestly the story behind it is summer time whining, I’m laughing because that was the stimulus. Which words sound good with the idea of dancing with your crush or partner in the summertime at a party? That’s the sort of music I grew up listening to; a lot of dancehall and summertime tunes.

It does have the perfect Summer vibe to it!  What are your favourite things about the Summer Season?

The heat! The glow of sun kissed skin, the haze of the sun, the drinks the ice lollies just those bright fun things that the heat brings out!

Tell us your fave hot weather outfit?

A bikini, chunky slip ons and a shirt I can use as a cover up or shirt dress. It’s the ease of putting it on and taking it off for me!

What’s on your playlist at the moment? (Aside from your own music!)

Vybz Kartel – Sex & The City, Lost Point of View – Things Change, Maleek Berry – Love Can Do, XXXTENTACION – Hot Gyal. There are so many but these are my favourites

With lockdown restrictions eased off, what plans have you started to make that you missed while in quarantine?

A holiday, a working vacation, anything that involves me being in Jamaica!

The first demo I recorded was at (renowned Jamaican artist) Buju Banton’s studio, I’d sat down and had a heart to heart with Capleton (reggae and dancehall artist), some of the best producers in Jamaica.

When you get time to PAUSE, what do you do for fun?

I meditate and say my prayers, constantly working, creating and doing is amazing. So in order to take a second to myself and be able to carry on doing more, I take some me time. I’ve managed to merge meditation with cooking and singing now.

Finally, what can we expect from you for the rest of 2020, leading into 2021?

Expect to see incredible visuals, movie business and music that will have you in your feelings and like you’re unstoppable!
