Braiding has been said to go back as far as 30,000 years globally, most commonly associated with African women. Yet it’s acceptance into today’s society still sees discomfort.
This editorial explores the competitive ideology of accepting a hairstyle. Looking at how women can be empowered by female unity. The hair has an abstract take on the history of African braid styles, which symbolise and embody the likeliness of a Goddess.
