Qixi, affectionately known as Valentine’s Day in Chinese, was celebrated worldwide this past weekend (Aug. 14). Amidst the festivities, PAUSE Her has curated a collection of things brands are doing to celebrate in an effort to boost sales, embrace inclusivity and celebrate a time of love and light!

In celebration of the Qixi Festival, Prada has offered an assortment of women’s and men’s products for the day of love. At PAUSE Her, we have our eyes on the iconic Prada Cahier and Prada Galleria bags, yet the brand has also offered the more recent Prada Odette and Prada Panier styles – available in a selection of shades. Embellished with red heart-shaped patches and flowers, the item is seamlessly characterised by the logo in the same red colour and honours its source of inspiration by the emblematic symbol of love.

Prada is not alone in celebrating the season of love with the release of its Les Pommes collection, which features denim separates, tees, jerseys, knits and more. Incorporating playful embellishments of apple and heart motifs throughout the collection, it is the perfect mix and match collection for couples who wish to flex their love.

To celebrate Qixi, and to honour Van Cleef & Arpel’s devotion to love, the company has given us a Two Butterfly Between the Finger ring, mother-of-pearl diamonds, a Frivole pendant and Frivole earrings. The collection dubbed ‘A Poetic Garden of Love’, encourages us to express tender feelings this Valentine’s Day.

It is no surprise that Fendi is well prepared for the Chinese Valentine’s Day / Qixi Festival this year. A recent capsule collection filled with bold red hues was released by the brand, in particular, exhibiting Fendi’s signature handbag adorned with mini-heart patterns. Is there a theme to this season of love? Perhaps there is.

And finally, this year’s Qixi Festival sees luxury fashion house Balenciaga reworking some of its iconic pieces using pink and red hues and faux fur materials. Among the variety of top handle bags and heart-shaped clutches, the sneakers and track sandals have also received some love. Keeping with the popular red heart motif, the collection includes tees, hoodies, caps, and denim jackets all encircled with the L word.
