COVID-19 has completely flipped our lives upside down across the globe, any sense of normalcy and routine has gone out of the window. Most of us are now at home figuring out what to do with our time. Of course if you feel like to doing absolutely nothing that is fine, take the time to rest, no one should make you feel bad about that. For those of you looking for some ideas, we’ve called upon our favourite people to help share how they’ve spending their time at home.
What has been the best part about being in lockdown?
I’ve been able to take this time to rest and surprisingly create. Despite the obvious downsides of the lockdown, I’ve never felt this creative or had this much time on my hands.
What have you found hardest?
Not being able to just go out and see my loved ones. Also, despite finding ways to produce content from home, I miss being on set and shooting street style imagery.
What advice would you give to people who are “bored”?
Whether it’s watching Netflix or taking a course on Skillshare, find what works best for you. Some people need to find things to do to fill their time, take that course you’ve wanted to take, attend their virtual event. There’s so much amazing content out there. But also, don’t be hard on yourself, if you only have the capacity to watch YouTube videos and Netflix. Either is fine. But for me, I either find different ways of creating art, watching Netflix, face-timing friends, doing work and then staying up till 3am, wondering where the day has gone. And repeat…
Can you recommend your favourite book, and why we should read it?
If you’ve watched The Handmaid’s Tale and loved it… Definitely get the book, and the sequel The Testaments. A great read for those who like to get lost in dystopian novels.
Favourite box set?
Grace and Frankie. Mainly because the women in my life are either Grace or Frankie’s and it’s the funniest show about old ladies and vibrators. I’m not really selling it well. Just watch it.
A song that makes you happy?
Jared Brady – Enjoy Your Life. If I’m ever in a funk, I play that and dance it off.
Favourite quarantine look?
Loungewear is the only way to do it.
What does your ‘at home’ beauty regime consist of?
Pretty much the same as my usual routine. Cleanse, tone, serum, eye cream, and moisturzier. But most importantly sunscreen, it’s still important.
Any tips for those that are missing their hairstylist/nail tech?
I’ve just bought a whole gel kit and a set of 120 press on nails. If I still need to go to the nail salon every three weeks by the end of this, I’ll be disappointed lol.
Post quarantine, what is the first thing you are going to do?
Booking a holiday, seeing my friends and family, and most importantly, partying!! Be ready to see me at everyday party, club and bar. My body is ready.
Stay home, stay safe.
